1960 Porsche 356B Roadster

This left-hand drive 356B Roadster is among the rarest of all 356 series cars, this example remained with its original owner until 2017 and retains its authentic colour of Aetna Blue, available with extensive documentation and in turn-key concours condition.

​Chassis 87678 was delivered new via Competition Motors in Hollywood California to its first owner Mr. Chuck Iverson on 6th June 1960, the car was finished in the rare colour Aetna blue with a grey leather interior. During Mr. Iverson’s ownership he upgraded the engine to full super 90 specification with a new super 90 engine (no. P806647 type 616/7) which produced an additional 50% horsepower. The car remained with Mr. Iverson and his family for 57 years, when he sold it to a local collector in California who rebuilt the super 90 engine with a big bore piston and cylinder set, Solex P40 solid shaft carburetors and an ‘022’ Bosch distributor. The original 741 transmission (no.45871) was disassembled, inspected, cleaned and refreshed. The brakes and suspension were rebuilt with new Koni shock absorbers, a Bilstein steering stabiliser, German wheel cylinders, ATE hoses and new bushings. As well as all the mechanical attention chassis 87678 received, it also underwent a bare-metal re-paint in the original colour Aetna blue.  In all the car underwent a full concours restoration where no stone was left unturned and is one of the finest restorations we have seen.  The detail went right down to the chrome being triple plated, new décor trim and seals and the original glass polished to remove any age-related blemishes.

​Acquired by the current owner in 2019, the car resides in a private Porsche collection with the owner having a long history of owning 356s and is now available for the first time on the U.K. market.

​Beautifully restored thought-out the car is complete with a tool kit, original jack, service history, Certificate of Authenticity, factory Kardex and spare wheel.
